Big Shuriken 3 Rev. B

The third generation of the Big Shuriken CPU cooler features a low profile and an unconventional, asymmetrical heatsink design for unrestricted RAM compatibility. Thanks to the five nickel-plated copper heatpipes and the large cooling surface, the Big Shuriken 3, which is only 67 mm high, offers superb cooling performance for its dimensions as well as outstanding compatibility for modern ITX and HTPC systems. New in Revision B is the Kaze Flex 120 II Slim PWM fan, which is installed here for the first time and has a reduced height of just 15 mm. Despite the low height, the fan is equipped with a fully-fledged, closed liquid bearing (Fluid Dynamic Bearing) and rubberized contact surfaces. If required, the fan can also be replaced with another regular 120mm fan with 25mm height using an alternative set of screws included in the package. The revised mounting system also enables the Big Shuriken 3 Rev. B to be fully compatible with sockets LGA1700 and AM5.

Features

Asymmetric design for maximum compatibility

Big Shuriken 3 Rev. B was designed with the goal to significantly improve the compatibility. This has been achieved by shifting the base-plate to the side in contrast to regular designs with centered base-plates. In order to avoid collisions with the I/O shields of motherboards, the entire cooling fin stack has been revamped. Thanks to this new asymmetrical heatsink design, Big Shuriken 3 is able to deliver unrestricted RAM compatibility and distinguishes itself as the perfect cooling solution for high-end HTPC and ITX systems.

Kaze Flex II 120 Slim PWM Fan

n order to keep the Big Shuriken 3 Rev. B as low as possible, the newly developed Slim fan from the Kaze Flex II series with a height of 15 mm has been used. In spite of its reduced thickness, an average life-span of 120 000 hours is achieved thanks to the self-contained fluid dynamic bearing (FDB). Kaze Flex II 120 Slim PWM inherits also the rubber decouplers for reduction of vibration transfer as well as the PWM fan control ability.

Versatile Fan Mounting

If more performance is required and enough headroom for extra height is available, users are able to equip the Big Shuriken 3 Rev. B with a regular aftermarket 120 mm case fan with 25 mm height. The additional set of correspondingly longer mounting screws is included in the scope of delivery and allows a fast installation process out of the box.

Hyper Precision Mounting System IV

The Big Shuriken 3 Rev. B CPU Cooler uses the updated H.P.M.S IV mounting system which offers full LGA 1700 and AM5 compatibility. A pre-assembled mounting bar with spring-loaded screws ensures balanced pressure distribution. During the installation process, the universal backplate is securely fixed to the mainboard by rubberized spacers, making the process considerably easier.
