Hi, after a few months of use I've noticed that the pipes of the Orochi weren't made of copper but rather in aluminium (I suppose) and then covered with a copperish kind of paint (like on MSI socket radiators).
Unfortunately the paint job started crackling at various parts of the orochi, giving the whole a decaying look I am not very happy with. Would anyone happen to have any knowledge regarding this paint, and how to remove it (if possible without having to scratch it all by hand )?I have been thinking about bathing the orochi in a water + lemon juice solution but I'm afraid it might damage the aluminium fins. |

Hello John Venture,
sorry that i have to say this, but you are not that right your think. The heatpipes of all of our coolers are made of copper. We didn't use AL heatpipes. That what you see on your pipes is maybe a process called "oxidation". This process take no "negative" effect on the cooling performance. What you can do is to polish the pipes with some fine metalpolish. Kind Regards Chris

Damn! I thought it was anodized aluminium which would have made the coloration relatively easy to remove, but if its oxydation it will be harder, because where it is (between the fins) it is hardly accessible.
In fact you can see it on the picture of the dimension thread: ![]() Notice how the pipes in-between fins have changed colour? And polishing them there will be tough. |

Hi,
ahhh , that what you mean, you can see it on the picture, is tin-solder.The fins on Orochi are soldered with the heatpipes. Kind Reagrds Chris
