Hi,
i noticed that the new Mugen 2 cooler has a bolt through mounting & a backplate, also for AMD sockets. Is this mounting compatible with Ninja 2 & AM2? If it is, will it be available separately? If it is not, is there going to be somtething similar for the Ninja Series & AM2 socket? (I would like to post compatibility verification of Ninja 2 with my motherboards, but i could locate any relevant thread. Is there any ?) |

Hello felix,
for bolt-through mounting of Ninja 2, you cold use the CPU Cooler Stabilizer K8/AM2. Thread for Ninja 2: Ninja PLUS Rev. B Compatibility List (can be used for Ninja 2, too) Kind regards, Stefan - Scythe EU Hamburg

Thank you for your fast response.
K8/AM2 Stabilizer still uses the original retention mechanism. I actually thought of something like the 775 stabilizer (only the way it locks on 775 socket), or the new Mugen 2 mounting type, meaning "true" bolt-through. |

Hello felix,
nope it does not, because K8/AM2 stabi is delivered with a completely new retention bracket which is produced of metal. Scythe EU GmbH : CPU Cooler Stabilizer AM2 http://www.moddingbase.de/artikel.ph...zer_amd_k8_am2 Cheers, Stefan - Scythe EU Hamburg

I see what you mean...It will be more stable than using the OEM plastic mount...and as far as i can see it is supplied with metal backplate, too...nice
What i meant as "original retention mechanism" was this metal clip...you can see the picture i attached Personally, I prefer having to bolt than using a lever...the Mugen 2 mount seemed nice... Anyway...i'll try the AM2 Stabilizer |
