Hi,
I bought on Friday (17.10.2008) one Ninja 2 cooler in order to replace my noisy Intel one coming with the E8500 processor. Unfortunately, it appears I have some problems with the fan provided with since it can't start rotating by itself but needs a little push up (a finger kick off). At first I thought it was my motherboard (MSI P45 Neo-F) which wasn't providing power enough despite I configured my BIOS to provide 100% power to the fan (12 V). So I checked with an old 9 Volts battery. This one was enough to start up an Antec Tricool, enough for the old Intel fan, but still not enough to launch for my new Scythe fan (but if I manually start it, then it keeps rotating). At last I get to my school electronics lab for further testing: _The old Intel fan starts rotating itself at 5,0 - 5,2 volts. _ My new Scythe fan wasn't able to start rotating by itself whatever voltage it was. Anyway, after a manual start, it can keep rotating as low as 5 volts. So these are two pictures showing my fan can't start rotating by it's own at 13V (I gave it a little extra )._ Before helping it ![]() _ After helping it ![]() I guess this is not a "feature" of the fan, but I just get on the "lucky one" .Is there any possibility to get a new fan thanks to warranty without having to set off the huge radiator which is already on my motherboard ? (it took me quite long to fix it) Thank you in advance, Kwak note: About the whole product box: Name: Ninja 2 CPU coolerAbout the fan Model: SY225SL12LM

Exact info on the procedure sometimes varies based on the country the unit was purchased. So only Scythe staff can give a definite answer.

Hello again,
I have some questions: _ Is the universal retention kit compatible with the Ninja 2 ? _ Is it compatible over a s775 motherboard (like a MSI P45 Neo-F) (The Ninja 2 is compatible, the question is just about the retention kit...) _ I experience some problems with the s775 push-pins since they tends to unlock themselves quite easily while I am manipulating around, will the retention kit solve this problem. _ Does this retention kit offer a better (harder and stronger) fixation than the push pins _ The push pins are not that likely to be fully pulled out since we can't unscrew them as far the dissipator is over them. Is the dissipator easyer to remove from the retention kit despite the "small access area". (PS: I have no other choice than fixing the motherboard in the box before fixing the dissipator since one screw is under the dissipator)
