Hi all,
because I have one piece of this good old Ninja cooler (SCNJ-1000) here: Can the original Ninja (SCNJ-1000) be mounted on a socket 1155 board? Thanks for help! |

Yes, with this: Universal Retention Kit 3: CPU Kühler, Lüfter, Lüftersteuerung, PC Netzteile von Scythe
You need the original Socket 775 clip that came with Ninja 1 Rev A. The pushpins are removed from this clip and then you can mount Ninja on Socket 1155 or 1366 with screws and backplate from the kit.

No, it didn't work
![]() I bought the Scythe Universal Retention Kit 3, but unfortunately this has no support for the Ninja SCNJ-1000/SCNJ-1000P at all... The original Ninja uses clamp mounting and two mounting bars that were supplied with the CPU cooler. The information that Oli gave here is wrong: The problem with the the Scythe Universal Retention Kit 3 is that it doesn't support mounting bars. Hence it can't be used in conjunction with the Ninja, only with other coolers that I don't know... In case you wish to use the original Ninja (which was a great CPU cooler!) and don't throw it away just because Scythe doesn't offer an appropriate 1155 mounting kit, buy a Socket 1155 mainboard that also features LGA 775 socket holes - like the ASRock H67M-GE/HT S1155 M-ATX. Hey guys, keep posting, especially about other methods (like Tr kit) to install the original (first) Ninja. I too have it, love and don't want to spend money on a new cooler for my coming 1155 setup. And no, I don't want an Asrock - I'm looking to buy MSI or GB board.
