Smile I need a HSI passive for my equipment

Hello,

I´d like to have a passive HSI, and thus I´m interested in ninja plus,

I have this components in my system:

Chipset: VIA VT8383 Apollo K8T800,AMD Hammer chipset,
Hard disk: Barracuda 7200.7 SATA NCQ 80817, from seagate manufacturer Memory Card: RAM: 1024 Mb (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)
Motherborad:Gigabyte GA-K8VT800 v1 (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 3 DDR DIMM, Audio, Processor: amd athlon 64 3000 graphic card:leadtek gs tdh winfast a7600

is there any incompability problem with any of these devices or do you advise me to go passive with this pc?

I also need the HSI being able to have active or passive cooling, I think that is ninja plus, right? just in case there are much load......and this is a question I have, how do I know if I need to turn on the fan or not? Do I have to watch at the cpu temperature or there are more factors for this? what would be the top temperature the cpu could afford without fan?

And the last doubt I have, (sorry for so many questions) what is the last revision, I think is b followed by some numbers, but what numbers? I didn´t found it. Just to assure I don´t buy a discontinued model.

Thanks in advance for your help and regards

Hello dolcepa,

Thanks for your interest in Scytrhe items.

The mentioned motherbaord seems to be avialable in 2 versions. Do you have a socket 939 retention along with your motherboard or not? Fanless should work with the mentioned motherbaord. I used to run my office PC fanless for over one year on a Athlon 64 3000+. It barely got warm and never made any issues to me. Please make sure there is some airflow inside the PC case, then it should be fine.

Greetings,
Andy

Hi and thanks for the help

I think I don´t have that socket 939, just in case I looked in everest and that´s the info about my mobo:

Quote:
Chipset de la Placa Base VIA VT8383 Apollo K8T800, AMD HammerUS
Sockets/slots CPU 1 Socket 754
Chipset de la Placa Base K8T800

Motherboard ID 10/22/2004-K8T800-8237-6A7L0G04C-00
Motherboard Name Gigabyte GA-K8VT800 v1
Front Side Bus Properties: Bus Type AMD Hammer
Real Clock 200 MHz
Effective Clock 200 MHz
HyperTransport Clock 800 MHz
Memory Bus Properties:
Bus Type DDR SDRAM
Bus Width 64-bit
DRAM:FSB Ratio CPU/12
Real Clock 167 MHz (DDR)
Effective Clock 335 MHz
Bandwidth 2680 MB/s

Chipset Bus Properties:
Bus Type VIA V-Link
Bus Width 8-bit
Real Clock 67 MHz (ODR)
Effective Clock 533
MHz Bandwidth 533 MB/s

Motherboard Physical Info:
CPU Sockets/Slots 1 Socket 754
Expansion Slots 5 PCI, 1 AGP
RAM Slots 3 DDR DIMM
Integrated Devices Audio, LAN Form Factor ATX
Motherboard Size 230 mm x 300 mm
Motherboard Chipset K8T800
my socket is 754, then is there some problems with this socket?

I have a just a fan inside the case, that throws air out of the case, but if I install ninja plus, maybe I don´t need it?

or perhaps if I want to go passive, do I have to buy some other case, i.e antec solo with some air? my graphic card is installed with a fan, but probably that´s not enough.......

Hi,

The Socket 754 is fine, same mounting as 939. The point is, that you need to think about the cooling aspects. It all comes down to Physics. If you don't have the right airflow inside the PC Case, you can expect high temps or an unstable system. Especially if you go for a fanless VGA card, you will hit a wall soon, if you don't have fans inside the PC Case. A new chassis won't make the cooling significant better when it comes to fanless.

Greetings,
Andy
