so as i said before, i suggest to you to use the standard backplate of the original cooler, then you should get better temps.

No need for this i´m afraid.
The Space between the GC and the Chassis is way too small
for the Musashi.

I had similar Problems.
Purchasing a new Chassis was the only Solution.

@Norrissey
Thanks but good to know for the new chassi if I'm not to use an other GC.The present one has been quite "abused" by cutting out for fans and cpu heatsink. Don't know where or how it will end..

Grand Kama Cross......."Cut side plate" for fan outside chassi.

I understand You have Musashi. If you can pls state the distance I'm looking for. Thanks for your assistance.

EDIT Sat AM
Got the messurement from a retailer in Sweden. So everyting cool/will fit and time to buy it today.

Q::What's Your opinion on these temps ?

GC: HIS 4890 Turbo. Installed today and first run. Didn't check temps for MVDDC Phase's on stock cooler before change.

Beleive I'm not finished with config ventilation will post more later but for now:

First:::This when playing Stalker Pripyat with ATI Catalyst monitor 100% load 1440x900. 900/1000MHz. Second:::Idle. Fans at 100% speed at both.

Mounted to GC and as can be seen a "tight" fit end of heatpipe and optic. Can be moved later on some but for now ok since I have to strip everything out to reach inside to the fixing screws.
My primary interest is to achive a good working unit and learn the "Know How" of a build before make a good looking one.

Regards

Hi
Some results as a continuancy to my earlier post of changing the grafic cooler to the after market Musashi.
Earlier I hadn't any temp values to compare with.Below I compare them Stock vice Musashi.
Secondly diagrams with temp readouts after some modding of the cooling and a couple of pics.

1/Stock vice Musashi. 2/After a little modding. 3/Load-Idle with temps.

Pics speaks for themselves. The musashi has better temps over all when comparing to the stock cooler even though I have the HIS 4890 Turbo card.

The temps are good and the "noise" level is tremendoesly low only the sound of a air breeze. This also when playing games, in my case the Call of Pripiat [COP], 100% load on grafic and 900/1000MHz and 1440x900.
Wouldn't Y agree after checking out above. Not to mention when not gaming......

EDIT:
<<<<<OBS>>>>> From Scythe Musashi product site:
With HD 4890 *¹==*¹ It is recommended to use the heatsink-plate coming with the original cooler to cool the VR/MosFET

EDIT 3/31/2010:LINK:Changed fans to SY1025SL12M >>2 x 72m3/h.
Official Scythe Forum - AiAiAi's Album: Musashi with 100x25mm Kaze Jyu fan SY1025SL12M

Probably as low temps possible to be achieved. For Me anyway.
Hard to beat Laws of nature.
