Musashi Compatibility ATI 5870/5850

Guten morgen wünsche ich allen hier

ich komme sofort zu meinem problem und hoffe hier, hilfe, tips, und freundliche antworten zu bekommen.
ich habe schon viele foren durch aber keines konnte mir wirklich helfen und/oder mein problem verstehen.
ich habe ein asus rampage 2 extreme 12GB ram intel i7 975 und zwei 5870 karten,
das system soll wenn die probleme mit der kühlung weg sind im oberen bereich des overdrive laufen.
cpu ram und board sind von den temperaturen ok....nicht gut aber ok.
aber jetzt der hammer.....die zwei karten sind so brutal eng aneinander das ich dazwischen kein blatt mehr bekomme.
die temperaturen machen mir recht große sorgen, da im benchmark test 96° keine seltene sache ist.
desktop habe ich 62° in spielen 88°+ das ist mir zuviel.
nun habe ich euer forum gefunden weil ich den kühler hier sehr gut fand und dazu ein paar fragen habe.
1 passt auf jeden fall auf die hd 5870?
2 wie weit gehen die temperaturen runter? in % zu dem original kühler.
3 was mache ich mit den spannungswandlern?
4 stabilität....was ist mit der stabilität der karte? ich hörte das durch das entfernen der schwarzen bodenplatte die stabilität enorm leiden soll und sich die karte verdrehen soll..

bitte helft mir weiter ich trau mich net mehr zu zocken bei meinen werten, und ich habe angst ohne hilfe meine karten umzubauen da ich nicht weiß was mit den spannungswandlern ist.

Hallo,

wollte heute den Musashi auf meiner Asus Radeon 5850 montieren. Jedoch bin ich mir nicht sicher ob der richtig passt da sich der gesamte Kühler nach der Montage noch leicht verschieben lässt. Scheinbar sind die Stifte zwischen Kühler und Backplate zu dünn für die Löcher auf dem Board. Ist das so gewollt und in Ordnung oder gibt es da Abhilfe?

Das ist normal so. Es gibt hier irgendwo einen Thread zum Modding der Stifte um sie zu verdicken - quick & dirty mit alten Kugelschreiberminen.

Die Verschiebbarkeit hat keinen Einfluss auf die Kühlleistung und die dünnen Stifte sind ein Tribut an die lange Liste komaptibler Karten.

Hello everyone. I've bought a musashi cooler today for my sapphire radeon 5870. i do not know what's wrong but the cooler is NOT working properly.. I've used it with and without the copper spacer, re-aplied the thermal grease, but STILL, with fans connected to the PSU running on max speed (or at least what i believe to be max speed - both controlers turned all the way to max) the gpu temps are 85ºC in under 2 mins running Furmark, againts the 63ºC provided by the stock cooler running at max fan speed or even 81ºC at 45%. I've seen instalation pics, the heatsink is touching the copper spacer which is touching the gpu processor, they are firmly secure. Please, what in the world is wrong ? The Musashi cooler cannot be inferior to stock cooling... right? ... ... At least the following link proves the superiority of the newer Scythe cooler, then the second link proves musashi to be even better:

Hello,

Musashi is compatible with 5870 but performance is not really good and you need high rpm ranges . Possible is to mount a 120 mm fan on Musashi for more performance. Musashi´s performance is not really good for type of this graphic cards. Musashi have only 2 heatpipes and that is biggest problem : (

Hello, as many other guys I'd like to replace my current 5850 stock cooler with the musashi but I do not see in this topic any clear answer about how to proceed as regards the compatibility of the heat backplate and the necessity to modify either the backplate or the musashi itself.

Could it be possible that you give a proper answer, please ? (english is preferred !!)

I'm interested in putting a Musashi on my 5850 as well. You said its performance with 5870 is not the best. How about 5850? I'm trying to decide between Musashi and Setsugen, which would be better for me noise/heat wise on this specific card? I've seen tests, but not with this card Thank you for your answer!
