Default Mugen 2 missing insulation washers?

For some reason my mugen 2 pack was missing 3 of the insulation washers, I bet this has never ever happened to anyone else but these things always happen to me. I have another type of insulation washer though but its more of a card type material instead of plastic will that work the same? I installed it on a brand new XFX x58i mobo and it was completely dead so I RMA'd it thinkin I had just got a DOA board but now I think it may have been this cooler that did it.
So you can imagine Im less than keen to put it onto my new p6t deluxe as this board retails in my country for $700 plus

Thanks in advance

Hello D3LTA09,

where are you from? If you are from EU I will send you a set of washers for free.

Cheers,
Stefan - Scythe EU Hamburg

Default Missing a insulation washer too for Mugen 2!

It is obvious that the washer is to prevent an accidental shorting out of the expose circuitry that the metal washer would be against under the board. Now could I make a washer out of a plastic bottle material or is there heat resistant properties I should be aware of? How about some other type of non-conductive material? Any ideas? I live in US.

Thanks
docyoung

I'm in the process of installing the Mugen 2 I bought into a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P i7 motherboard and just noticed that the box didn't come with the 4 aluminum washers needed for the LGA 1366 install! Nice quality control Scythe...

Could someone tell me what size these washers are? Maybe I can find something that will work at the local hardware store so I don't end up with a ton of down-time. Also, what are you guys doing with regards to the so-called "original washers" if none were included on your motherboard? There were none on the gigabyte socket.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

where are your from? Inside EU in can send out the aluminum washers by this day, outside it will need a bit longer. For this possibility here are the dimensions of the washer: outer diameter: 7,8 mm , Inner diameter: 3,7 mm , high: 2,1 mm

If your motherboard didnt have washers on the front, then you will not need it.

Hi Sumo,
I'm in the USA (Michigan). I apologize for my sarchasm in the earlier post. I was very frustrated last night with the install due to the missing washers. I sent an email to support@schythe but as you can imagine even if they managed to ship the missing pieces out today my PC will no doubt still be sitting in parts over the weekend.

Thanks for the dimensions of the washers, I'll see if I can find some at the hardware store today.

Thank you for your quick reply and have a great weekend,
Wayno
