Default Fan Clicking

So I just installed my new Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B. What a long install. Anyways I turned it on and there is a very regular clicking sound coming from the fan. It seems to spin up fine under load but the clicking sound just gets louder. What should I do?

EDIT: I can't seem to get the fan to get up to 1300rpm. Max I've seen is high 900s. How would one test that?

Fan click is prolly smth wrong with the motor IMO. CPU gets hot => your fan spins faster to cool it. Use Prime95 (loads your CPU at 100% => s..t loads of heat) and monitor the temps and fan speeds.

Edit: i wouldn't recomend doing Prime95 blends with a faulty fan tho.!!!

Use an adapter and connect it directly to the PSU. It'll then run full speed.

Something like that: http://www.kabel-onlinemarkt.de/bild...ss/10481_1.jpg

You should see and hear the difference between 900 and 1300 as you are lacking a speed signal with this installation.

Switching off Smart Fan or whatever your PWM regulation option is called in your board's BIOS should also deliver plain 12 volts for max rpm.
