The 1-3 (I guess 2) RAM slots closest to the CPU socket will be blocked by the fan. If your case is wide enough you can mount the fan higher on Mugen 2 (this is always the same with those Corsair modules) or you'll have to mount it on the opposite side (sucking) - if you want to use those slots.

Don't know what the backside looks like (because of Mugen 2 backplate). Top side looks ok.

EDIT: As same shops sell the board bundled with Mugen 2 it should be ok.

Intel i7 930 @ 4.0GHz, Asus P6X58D-E Motherboard, 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Overclocked Bundle BU37OC

Ok....so the Nocua nc-13 bracket fits the mugen 2 on the asus rampage III extreme.

issue: the screws that came with the mugen 2 are wrong for the clips that need to be attached to it. They can't go into those small holes on the bottom of the heatsink!!!!

RTFM

I am glad to see Scythe take users comments into consideration. The new munting kit is much more practical, and with a rubber washer or two to hold the backplate against the case it may be possible to mount/unmount it without even taking the board out.

Question: is the mounting kit compatible with first rev. and is it possible to order it seperately?

Unhappy Compatibility with Asus P5W DH Deluxe

Hi,

I tried to install a Mugen 2 rev. B on my Asus P5W DH Deluxe, but there were spots of solder under the backplate preventing it from being completely up against the motherboard.

Does it mean that the Mugen 2 rev. B is incompatible with my motherboard ?
