Exclamation Mugen is basically compatible with Asus P5K Deluxe

Info about Mugen's compatiblity with Asus P5K Deluxe:

Although Mugen is listed as compatible in the list I'd like to add that Mugen with Scythe Retention Kit and without copper spacer is only compatible if the same capacitors around the CPU socket are used that I found on my P5K Dlx. If they're just 1mm higher Mugen will not fit and there will be much pressure on the capacitors from above (probably damaging the board). Mounting direction is irrelevant for this problem as capacitors are placed on two sides of the CPU socket.

Look at the pics for further details:

Mounting direction parallel to ATX I/O shield:

Mounting direction parallel to PSU:

Even with the fan installed it clears the RAM sockets quite comfortably:

If you use the plastic washers (quite thick ones) delivered with Ret Kit and the copper spacer from Ret Kit (a must if you use the thick washers) the capacitors could be a bit higher but the temps will be worse.

Bye Oliver

Hello again!

Oli: The capacitor problems is common, but we can not really solve it. If it is about the small chance, that they stick out more than usual. We would need to put all the LGA775 Mobos to "not compatible"

The chances are that it does not fit, but this is why we have the Universal Retention Kit has the copper spacer ^^

Slizer: Gigabyte x38-DS4 is really difficult to say. They seem to use a different heatsink and I would need to order that mobo from them, to check that. The height is the factor which might cause incompatibility.

jprokop: ASUS P5N-D 750i SLI looks rather safe. The heatsink is not that tall but wide. Based on what I found on the inet, Mugen and Ninja PLUS both should be fine.

infected: The layout looks safe. I can not locate any issues, even with Universal Retention Kit it should be OK.

Hello, I´m new here and have a question. Does the Muge fits to an Asus A8N-E, Socket 939 Board? Because my old Cooler is not so good and a little bit to loud.

greetings m4Tze

Today I installed my shiney new Mugen on my Asus M2N32 SLI DELUXE. So the Mugen IS compatible with the M2N32, but the list states it is incompatible. No issues encountered during installation, it fits like a glove

(If the list was correct 6 months ago I would have bought the ******** immediately, instead I bought a Zalman 9500 AM2 )

Edit: Why does I n f i n i t y become ********

Hello ^^

m4Tze: Asus A8N-E should be fine with Mugen, I don't see any problems in this combination. Something like 93% sure compatibility.

jappie: Thanks for confirming. I will set a link to your post, but there should be a problem if we make it incompatible in the list. So might be a different revision now... About the name: It is just for safety, I understand what you mean, so just ignore

Why is the M2N32 SLI DELUXE marked as incompatible? The M2N32 SLI DELUXE and the M2N32 SLI DELUXE WIRELESS only differ in a wireless card that does not interfere with the Mugen in a longshot. The Asus website doesn't even have a seperate item for the non-wireless edition. They are identical but for the wireless card above the blue PCI-Ex16 slot.

M2N32 SLI DELUXE WIRELESS: http://www.asus.com/999/images/products/1163/1163_l.jpg

M2N32 SLI DELUXE: http://www.digit-store.nl/images/M2N...xewireless.gif

The difference is in the gold plated connector that is missing with the NON-wireless edition.

So it should also be compatible

Well, it should be that someone reported that it was not compatible and I need to follow that feedback as well. I will set it to a medium status, so then both voices are calculated in and we are on safe side. I simply don't want those people to come around and cry that "Scythe lies and they are evil because they give wrong information". I hope you understand what I try to say...Thanks ^^
