Well the orochi is compatible with the MSI X48C platinum motherboard, even when using high ram heatspreaders (my G.skill PC 8500 PI are fine).

I'll post some pics if you guys are interested.

Here they are (click for larger view):

Better shot of the ram heatsink/orochi clearance:

And in a Sonata 3 case (back fan has to be removed in this setup, but it might just fit if turned the other way around):

I'm going for an I7 on an Intel DX58SO MB as soon as they release the new stepping. Is there any chance Scythe might provide a 1366 kit like Noctua if we send a proof of purchase?

Hey John,

thanks for the pictures!
You could use our 1366 non-VTMS Mounting Clips:

And yes, Orochi fits with PushPins:

Default Orochi + ASUS P5N-D = Compatible!

Hello everybody,

the Orochi definitely fits on the P5N-D perfectly, I'm gonna post some pics when I'm done. Any mounting place is fine.

Jens

Hello Stefan,

Someone brought to me that in the link you've provided for non-vtms fixations indicates that "Please note that this LGA1366 Mounting Clip is NOT compatible and can NOT be used for the former Ninja CPU Cooler (Model Number: SCNJ-1000, SCNJ-1100, SCNJ-1100P). Orochi is NOT compatible, either."

Does it mean that the non-vtms mounting clip works, but isn't officially supported by Scythe?

Hello John,

exactly that it means. The non-VTMS Clips fit on Orochi, but we officially not support such an installation because orochi is to heavy. We only want to prevent damage in the user PCs. But normaly pushpins can hold a orochi.

Kind Reagrds
Chris

Cheers.
