Well this is the normal situation for any Scythe cooler and not directly connected to Socket 1156 or Ninja. As a matter of fact with any socket (AM2/3, 775, 478, 1156, 1366) the board layouts differ. Some manufacturers place the socket closer to the ram slots - some others keep more distance. Some have 4 slots, some have 6.
So in any situation you need to check whether the fan hangs directly above the rams modules or not. In this case modules with higher heatspreaders can't be used in the affected slots or you need to place the fan in a sucking setup (for tower coolers).
