Default Seriously disappointed

Seriously, don't bother with this product.

I bought two of them in an effort to silence my hard drives a bit and offer additional cooling and it does neither. The drives are just as warm and noisy as they were before - I can literally perceive no difference at all.

On top of this they appear to be poorly made. One of the enclosures had a totally mis-placed screw hole which didn't line up with the cover.

I'll be returning the faulty one to the retailer and hoping they'll refund me rather than replace but I'm stuck with the other unit which is of no use at all.

Not happy at all tbh.

Hello Vertigo1,

this is really sad news. Actually we had a small batch of Himuro having some quality issues. Your error description sounds as if you got one Himuro of this batch. We stopped selling this small batch directly after getting a notice about the issues.

I just arranged that you will receive a brand new Himuro from our distributor QuietPC, please send me your full shipment address and the invoice of your seller by email to s.watzinger@scythe.com.

Regarding the issues that Himuro is not offering any cooling, could you please say how you measured that there is no difference? Did you use a program or was it just subjective measuring?

Please have a look at this one:

Kind regards,

Hi,

Thanks for that offer, I'll send the details to you now.

Regards the temperature, I'm measuring with a thermal probe stuck to the drive itself, inside the Himuro.

Hello Vertigo1,

thanks for your response, waiting for your Email or PN.

Do you use an additional fan to cool down the HDD inside of Himuro? Without airflow, cooling is hardly possible.

Kind regards,
