Kama Meter volume control

Hi everybody, I've just bought a second-hand Kama Meter.
Everything works fine, except the volume control.

If I turn the knob, the display stays at -30dB, sometimes it changes but always goes back to -30dB.
My sound does not change in volume but if I turn left, the left speakers gets louder and the right speaker becomes more quiet. If I turn right the opposite happens...
I've connected everything properly and on the other persons computer it worked well...

Have I done anything wrong?

That sure sounds like something I had with a RMA'ed Kama meter before. I rated it as a malfunction, because it doesn't behave as it should and basically is a malfunction. Where did you buy it and is it still in warranty time? You got the invocie? Also please let me know from which country you come from, as we might have ahrd time to help you, kama meter is OEL for a while.

Thanks for answering so fast.
I do not have any invoice. I've bought this second-hand from a forum. I guess it is pretty old and therefore I have no waranty left.
I live in Belgium.

I guess I'll just have to live with it? Or could you give me a high-quality picture of the back of the panel? So I can check if there is maybe a wire not or faulty connected.

Hi,

I think it is rather not the wire, but something with the control or connectors. The Warranty should be already expired, sorry about that. You could check if there is any cold soldering point on the PCB, but a picture would not help. Defective components usually smell like dead hardware, so you will never mistaken the smell. it could be the chip itself, I can not say. You might want to ask the seller on the forum, if he has an invoice, that could maybe help, but to be honest, I doubt it can be repaired that easy and fast.
