Default Kaze server temp measuring defect ?

Hello,

just bought a Kaze Server to reduce the noise coming out of my pc. Did all the wiring as described in the manual (that are awefully many cables, btw...)

Fans are rotating, fans are controllable and temp is constant at 25° C at all sensors?

Is there a special way to stick the sensors to the cpu cooler, memory, GPU cooler,...? Or is the Kaze server defect. Do the sensors need a kind of a contact?

Thank you very much for your help.

where do you put the sensors if you see them all at 25C ?
if you have them at the same place next to eachother than it will be posible
you try to warm up one of the sensors by warm hand or so ?
normally you will see rise the temp fast on the specific sensor.
if that wont work i guess something is in trouble
did you have try a reset ?
sensors would be placed as close as posible to the cores of cpu / vga ...
and try to put them not in an area were some fan is blowing
find a "dead" corner somewere out of any airflow that will make more accuracy
in the messurments
placing the sensors with the tapes or glue ... or maybe between something
but not between the cpu and headsink because it will loose thermal contact
for your cpu core and heatsink
the sensors itself dont need any electrical contact , just plugin the connectors
on the controller board
well .. for the rest i dont know more to tell , hope i help you out a bit

regards

sensors are all in different places:

1. cpu cooler
2. between ram
3. gpu cooler
4. next to the hd

the cpu sensor is glued with the tape to the aluminium body, the rest of the sensors is more or less loose.

tried reset, switched to fahrenheit, tried warming the sensors with my hand.

no change at all...

seems like the control board is defect, that sucks, becasue I have to take out all the wires again

hmm a weird problem it is for sure
than maybe i thinking of a short circuit , maybe on of the sensors making contact
with some metal from headsink of case .. and shortes to ground and the controller is not been able to do a correct temp check .
you should check this out if the sensors are ok
disconnect them from the controller and try one by one
you can try too with the extra 2 sensors included in the package

otherwise i am also afraid the controller is defect and need RMA

maybe a point to Scythe designers for next controllers to make a solution
to fix and loose the controller in and out the 5,25 bay from outside the pc case
for easy installation and changing wires
i have same problem, i need to screw out the complete 5,25 and 3,5 bracket
out of the server case to reach the screws of the controller

You nailed it.

One of the sensors had a short circuit, I replaced it with one of the spare ones and then everything worked fine.

Thank you very, very much...

great news that you found the trouble and solved !
i am happy to help people out with my posibilitys and knowledge

today i was busy with setup some fans in my servercase
got 2 new Scythe S-flex 92 2500 rpm fans and 1 Silverstone fm121 fan
and all runs fine on my controller
i did try the 2 s-flex fans on one channel but this is a bit too much
at my idea , in 5 minutes the channel became hot
for the long runs and in havy load this is not a good idea
so all fans are on seperated channels now
fixed a old cpu 60 mm fan onto my northbridge with homemade
hardware very needed this fan because the NB becomes
real hot even at lowest stress runs
i really dont know how long this NB will live when this board
is fitted into a 1U case for example than the cooling is much less
than into a 4U rack i have
now need some food

You can have a look on my case there.

As you see I have a LianLi case, that is actually made only to have 2 5,25" bays, either on one of the sides.

Because the Fan controller is that short, I can put it on the other side.

The complete wiring is between the card reader/DVD and the Fab controller in the extra bay.

Therefore the area around the motherboard is "almost" wirefree.

Now I am trying a good combination of CrystalCPUID, Rivatuner, and the Kaze Server to get this baby quiet and powerful.

BTW. It's an Athlon XP-M 2800+ inside at 2149MHz at Vcore 1.05V running stable right now. a 7600GS silent.

The Three case Fans running at full speed, becasue they are very silent, the CPU is running some times at full speed,...

Thanks again
