Zipang and AM3 socket compatibility

Hello,

after a few research I decided to go for Zipang cooler for my next PC setup, due to a very good compromise btw performance and noise. The only doubt is that it is certified only up to the AM2 socket.

As I want to go for an AM3 socket motherboard, I'd like to know if there are mechanical incompatibilities with the retaining clips. If so, is in work an update of the clips offered in the kit?

Hello JustAQ,

AM3 has the same socket mounting mechanism as AM2 and AM2+ - so Zipang should work without any problems when using AM3.

I'm upgrading my computer and I bought a AMD Phenom II 955 with a Asrock M3A790GXH/128M and Corsair TW3X4G1600C9DHX Memory.

I bought like 1 year ago a Zipang Cooler, do you think it will fit for this motherboard, because I saw pictures of the motherboard and the chipset heatsink is tall and the RAM I bought have heatsinks too.

Please help me to confirm the compatibility. If the answer is NO how about the Kabuto will it fit?

the cooler will fit with the board and if you will use the red memory slots you should have no problems with your memory.
