No, this would mean that the board supports voltage regulation for all fan headers based on the PWM rotation speed actually used.

The PWM regulation only works on the 4-pin header.

Claim otherwise. I have even contacted SpeedFan's author to verify...I'm not taking sides here but it does look like it is possible.

As proposed I turned off the PWM and the CPU fan malfunction warning in the BIOS. It really seems that the CPU temperature is rather low at start so that the Zipang is not needed right from the start. Speed Fan came up with a temperature of about 30° immediately after the OS is ready. While opening applications the temperature steadily increases until the Scynthe Zipang jumps in at 38°. Previously I never waited that long and due to the BIOS alarm, turned off the computer before.
