Hi, I finally arrived the Zipang 2
My Impressions: Good Silent fan, you hear only with the ear attached to the fan. Good air flow even when the fan is silent. Very solid fin, do not bend easily. Perfect assembly and materials of excellent quality. Lightweight for its size and very low height(my impression) Bad The copper baseplate(not aluminum) is very thin(2mm). Thicker (4/5mm) could not be done? Clip fan, difficult to detach the fan from the heatsink. Clips for Amd, do not allow the positioning as the heatpipe vertically, as we recommended in the manual--> http://www.scythe.co.jp/manual/zipang2-manual.pdf but only in horizontal. Little thermal grease ![]() Congratulations Scythe, an good product worthy successor of Zipang. EDIT: What is this? Bad Bad the air is heated through fin Click to enlarge Last edited by theonly1; 06-26-2009 at 02:46 AM. |

The main problem with this heatsink it that the two central heatpipes who usually get hottest do not get enough airflow - it would be much better if the heatpipes would get pushed aside a bit so that "blindspot" right behind of the fan is not covering any of the heatpipe area. It's probably why the product was discontinued in favour of the Grand Kama Cross.
