Default Yasya - high temps - problem with cooler? would backplate help?

My cooler seems to be underperforming.
Using AC MX-2 thermal paste on 2.66MHz Stock:
40C idle and 67C under load; fan set to 1500rpm (it's almost the same as temps with the stock cooler)
I have a good experience with CPU cooler mounting so I don't expect the problem be there(I've actually reseated and reapplied the paste three times).
Could this be problem with the cooler or with the mounting system?
Is there any way to get backplate with screws kit to go for tighter fit?

Thank you for your response.

Don't think that the backplate mounting will help. People always underestimate the pressure which is applied by the standard pushpins.

Perhaps Oki has some ideas. You should wait for his response.

Hello kerosin,

I think your temps are a bit to high. I found a review from Yasya with i750 @ 3,8GHz and temps looking a bit better than yours - Scythe Yasya CPU Cooler

A backplate not offer better performance. Push-Pins have most time more pressure as a backplate mounting system. So please check Push-Pins again for right pressure =)

You are right. According measurements below temperatures should be much lower (actually those results in this independent and very precise test made me to buy Yasya):

I can see that my pushpins are seated well in the motherboard and I could hear the 'click' when pushing those down.

But nevertheless I will check on pins again over this weekend and will let you know.

Thanks a lot for now
