scythe mine + abit ip43 + Stabilizer 775

Greetings,

I'm the proud owner of a Scythe Mine CPU cooler, which I am completely happy with. Unfortunately, due to recent upgrades, the push pins are a little bit worn out and I'd like to upgrade to a Scythe stabilizer 775 system.

I'm not to keen about using the copper spacer though and was wondering if it would be possible to mount the cooler on my abit ip34 WITHOUT the spacer?
