This is a screenshot of SpeedFan with the Intel Stock Cooler.



Although the Intel stock cooler is very quiet, it's louder than the Shuriken, and the latter cools my CPU more

I have received the replacement fan today (and some nice extras in the box, thanks!!!)

I will install it ASAP and let you know how that went

Whoa, I thought I already posted the follow up here, sorry!

Anyway, I installed the replacement fan and all is well. Q-fan disabled, or Q-fan enabled in Performance mode gives a nice steady RPM value for the fan now...

Thanks again for the excellent service, I know where to direct friends who are looking for a new CPU cooler

i'm using the Shuriken cooler with Intel MB. and have the same Problems like selder. The cooler rpm is betwwen 0-1100 rpm but the cooler has no constant rpm. sometimes he failed complete. The original CPU Cooler from Intel works fine with constant 800rpm +- 50 rpm.

Did you try to disable your fan-control of the BIOS?

yes i tried to disable. Then Shurikan runs at full speed.

So that's the problem. If the fan-control is activated, the fan of course runs in various speeds.
