Default Big Shuriken kills mainboard?

I mounted the Big Shuriken to my new mainboard (Intel DH67GD) with a Core i3-2105 CPU, 2x2GB Kingston RAM kit and a BeQuite 400W PSU. After installing all components and powering on the board, the Big Shuriken worked for 5 seconds and then everything was dead. Replaced all components, checked the components in a different system - everything worked fine. Replaced the Big Shuriken with the Intel boxed Cooler -the board didn't work eihter. As I had the same Intel board a second time I started installing all components on the second board - except the Big Shuriken. Power on - the board worked fine. I replaced the Intel cooler with my Big Shuriken - same thing as with board #1 - everything is dead. Even switching back to the Intel cooler had no impact. Nothing happens after powering on...
Is it possible that the Big Shuriken destroyed two boards? Does the warranty cover such things if the Big Shuriken was the cause (it seems it destroyed two brand new Intel DH67 boards). Any ideas what I could check on my board/cooler/...

I cannot and will not speak for the Scythe officials but i find it highly unlikely that a cooler that is mounted to the board by a plastic pushpin connection could in any way destroy or harm your mainboard(s).

How should this have happened? The boxed cooler is mounted exactly the same way with pushpins. As they are not made of metal we can forget about shortcuts etc. - so I am very sorry that your config seems to have some kind of problem but from my POV the cooler is not responsible.

The only things i could imagine was too much pressure on the CPU - but this is also unlikely as this is a standardized mechanism and the pressure the stock cooler delivers onto the CPU isn't different. Big Shurikens with Pushpins are used all around the world w/o problems.

As - according to your report - the boards are "dead" I would investigate in the direction of electric problems and causes.

I don't think it is because of the mounting and the pushpins - even it was mach harder to mount than the Intel cooler. It's propably because of the fancontroler on the motherboard (this is the only electric connection of the cooler and the board). If the Big Shuriken shortens the board, it could probably kill the fancontroler on the board. I'm not sure if the board works with a damaged CPU fancontroler.
