Please be aware that there could be minor differences due to fault tolerances during the manufacturing process.

Could you tell me the height between the 2 blue lines and also the width between the heatpipes? Id like to know if i could fit a 80x80x25mm fan above the processor, between the heatpipes.

Sansay 08-02-2016 02:48 PM

Hi Zarovzky,

the distance is 13 mm

Sansay 08-02-2016 02:53 PM

Fan 80x80 mm will not fit, because the width between heatpipes is ~ 70mm.

Thank you for the fast reply, I think this one would fit perfectly but... would the temps be noticeable? This small fan is onlt 16cfm while the big one is around 45cfm.

Would expect like 2-3 degrees less, maybe more... ?

This fan will fit.
Do you want to use the heatsink without original fans of Big Shuriken, with only the small 60mm? The temperature difference will be higher, depending on the CPU load, and it may be 10 degrees or more.

1. Id like to use both fans, the original and the added one to keep the temperatures as low as possible. The case only allows 58 mm clearance and this cooler fits perfectly, I dont mind the noise as it is an isolated system.

2. Ive been looking around and found this fan, it got a bit better CFM than the 60mm one but its 70mm... as the heatpipes are curved I think this fan would not fit by 1-2 milimeters or it would fit in by forcing it a bit, what do you think?

1. Ah, ok. With two fans can be better 2-4 degrees.
2. The 70mm fan will not fit because of curvature of the heatpipes.

Hi again Sansay, could you tell me if the rev 2 B is compatible with ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Impact? Many forums/builders say it is compatible but Ive looked at the ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Impact and the fan doesnt seem to fit lol, is there any motherboard compatibility list around?

Here is the link where you can find motherboard spacing lengths:

Unfortunately, there is no compatibility list.
The fins of the heat sink are 42.5mm high above Matherboard. That could be one problem for audio riser (42mm).

The other parts (36mm) are not a problem.
