Hi,
does anybody know if Samurai ZZ can be mounted in all 4 directions on an AM2+ Mainboard like msi K9N2G Neo ? see MSI Global ? Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more I'm asking because I want to use the Top-Flow of the Fan to have some Air-Exchange above the Chipset-Cooler. A) The AM2 fastening Kit seem to allow only 2 mounting-directions ? B) But is there a fastening clamp, similar to the standard AM2 Boxed-Cooler fastenings (2 parallel spings in parallel cuts through the entire cooler) that allow to mount the Samurai ZZ in the other 2 directions ? C) Or is it possible to use the Socket 478 fastenings to get the Samurai ZZ fastened savely to the 4 plastic-finns on the edges on this Mainboards CPU socket? D) Or which other Cooler can be recommended that allows quiet CPU Cooling on this Mainboard in a desktop housing (max hight 120mm) ? Thank you in advance Michel |

Hello,
you can mount it in two mounting-directions. You cannot use other socket methods for your AMD system, only using VTMS clips for the AMD. Alternative: The Zipang 2 is quite too and have a height ~ 106 mm. The Big Shuriken have ~ 58 mm in height. All of this coolers have the VTMS System without any tools and hassle and can be used in two mounting-directions. You can combine this with the CPU Cooler Stabilizer K8/AM2, if you want .Here is one pictures from Samurai ZZ:

Can I mount all four directions on Socket LGA 1156?
How does the noise and cooling compare to Shuriken Rev. B on an i5 661 3.333Ghz. Would it be noisier or quieter and would it be cooler than with with Shuriken Rev. B? |

Hello cdrkeen,
Quote:
![]() Samurai ZZ have more performance as a Shuriken, but Shuriken is a typical htpc cooler with low height.
