Hi, I have a 3.5 SATA 250GB HDD and am wanting to cool the HDD(passively) but silence it at the same time. I am not sure which one to get as there are quite a lot of Scythe HDD coolers

Hello Waqas,
the questions is: How sensitive are your ears and which kind of noise would you like to block? Vibrations? When it is really about cooling, your best choice is Himuro. If you would like to block noise, yor best choice is Quiet Drive. Cheers, Stefan - Scythe EU Hamburg

Hi, I am wanting the HDD to be as quiet as possible. Last time I checked the temp of the HDD it was 38C. I would like it to be cooled to a reasonable temp, but be quiet at the same time. In short, I would have quietness as my top priority and cooling as my second priority

then choose the Quiet Drive Cheers, Stefan

Hello Waqas,
there is no way to tell how much cooler a HDD will be in the QD because all HDDs behave a little different. Actually, we don't have only a small amount of HDDs here for testing. Our experience tells, that the temperature of HDDs inside of the QD will stay constant compared to mounting without QD. Cheers, Stefan
