Question Quiet drive+raptor?

Have this configuration been tested, and what temperatures was it on? I would like to quiet my raptors but im not sure if quiet drive can handle the temps from a 10000rpm disk.

I guess you'll be needing a fan to blow on the SQD if you want to keep the drive cool. I tested the box with a 30W 10K RPM SCSI HDD and it hit 55C (24C ambient temp) at full load. Attaching a 120mm fan at minimal RPM dropped the temp down to 44C.

Hi,

We were runnign Quiet Drives at exhibitions with the Raptors but I don't remember the temperature. It should be "ok" but if you have a decent airlfow inside the case including the Quiet Drive, it should improve the performance, as EndoSteel reported.

Greetings,
Andy

I had Seagates 7200rpm in QD, but it was cooking (50degC) without small airflow. After making small airflof (fan@5V) temps. droped to 42degC. I guess you should go with a slow fan.
