Default The scythe 140mm fan

Hi,

Im just wondering, why should I buy the scythe Kaze Maru over the scythe slipstream? it would seem to me that the scythe slipstream has a better airflow to noise ratio than the kaze maru

is there anything I should know about/consider?

The primary question is: do 14cm fans fit in the installation positions?!

Example concerning CPU fan: 14cm Kaze Maru will stick out above the height of Ninja or Mugen that much that you have to find out if you can still close your case / side panel.

For case fans: If you have 14cm fan openings I'd always prefer 14cm Kaze Maru 500 rpm against 500 rpm Slipstream. I am using 5x 500 rpm Slipstreams 'cause I just can't use 14cm fans. But if I could it'd be an easy decision as Kaze Maru delivers better airflow at same rpm with virtually the same noise level.

Yes, that’s correct for the 500 rpm version. But if you compare the Slip Stream 1200 with the Kaze Maru 1200 then it looks like the following:
Slip Stream = 24,00 dBA / 68,54 CFM = 117 m³/h / DC12 V / 0,26 A (1200 upm Version)
Kaze Maru = 26,58 dBA / 61,30 CFM / 104,15 m3/h (1200 upm-Version)

So, why should I decide for the Kaze Maru? It makes more noise and less airflow!

I am not here to convince you of Kaze Maru. Take the Slipstream then if you find the figures convincing.

Scythe has so many product lines of fans that there are obviously only slight differences between some of then.
