1 Pedal Not Working

Hi,
I just purchased the Scythe USB Double Foot Switch. I using it on Windows 7 machine. Only 1 switch seems to be working, the right one. I have tried mapping the keys both with the supplied software and with another program. It says that they are mapped, but nothing happens when I press the left pedal.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know of a program I can use to test if the left button is doing anything when pressed?

It might just be a faulty item need to know asap.
