Default Mounting the Cooler pointing down

Hello. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to mount the Scythe Orochi with the heat pipes pointing downward, so that it can take advantage of the 120mm fan on the back of the PC case.

After some interviews with some owners of the case, I think it's compatible with the case and motherboard combo that I want to use.

The problem, is whether it's actually a good idea. According to the manual, It's not.

I'm fine with the fact that the cooler would block two of the top pci slots in this setup BTW.

Hi,

its always the best way to mount the Heapipes upwards. To use the pipes downward works not that efficient, so we not recommend these installation. Thats why we recommend hirozontal or vercal (heatpipes to the top) installation in our manuell.

cheers chris

That's a pity. I was hoping for a configuration like this: http://extreme.pcgameshardware.de/at...m-tt-armor.jpg Thanks for answering my question.

we not say that it is not possible to use it in this way, but you have to live with less performance results of the cooler.
