I have the following setup that I'd like to use with the Ninja RevB:
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3P LGA 775 mobo: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3P LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail Intel Q6600 CPU: Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail After doing some reading it looks like the ninja rev B may have issues with LGA775 mobos. Does anyone here have the same or similar mobo as mine? If so, how have things gone? I'm very seriously thinking about RMA'ing the HS before installing it after reading several stories where people are having a hard time making good contact between the CPU/IHS/HS. Scythe, could you please consider mailing out better clips with actual bolt down plates? Yes, the ease of use for the clip on types may be fine for low-end users, but as this is a HS that is driven towards the high-end, we really need better hardware mounts. Last but not least, is there any chance we'll see a rev C anytime soon? Thank you in advance for listening to our very serious concerns. |

Hi,
The Ninja should be OK with that mobo. I don't have it here yet, sorry. You should be able to use it, there are also problems with Mobo which should be compatible but then they simply switch something and then the Heatsink Manufacturer is the responsible, right= ![]() Someone considered or realized that the IHS is also made of copper and is not 100% plane? You can get like 10°C difference... ![]() Back to the topic. The bolt-through is something we do not offer. Push-Pins are in most cases doing fine. We are working on a possible way to add some alternative to Push-Pins but this is not something that will happen from today to tomorrow. Such things take time, need to be pre-tested, then produced, etc. Bolt solutions won't do it, we believe that this solution is not reliable enough. We are taking the concern serious but there is not always a chance to change things. Yet I think that there will be an alternative soon. Thanks for your understanding! Cheers, Andy

I have that same motherboard and am using the Ninja with no problem.
I didn't want to use the clips so I ordered the SCURK1 kit. Newegg.com - Scythe SCURK1 UNIVERSAL RETENTION KIT - Retail |
