the stock moutning of the ninja plus is atrocious.
I have just remounted mine with a thermalright bolt-thru kit from sidewindercomputers... for 3 bucks. and it dropped my temps by 10 degrees. and that's with just the initial application of AS5... i'll recheck after i've given it a full set up time. i expect a 12-15degrees C drop. the stock mounting mechanism is crap. I dont understand why you wont adopt a bolt-through setup. i love the heatsink. it's a great heatsink...coools really well. however, the mounting system is terrible. i strongly advise that anyone getting this heatsink for the intel socket invest in a boltrhough kit from either scythe or thermalright... i imagine scythe's works., but the thermalright kit was cheaper. |

Hi,
I had this topic pretty often... ![]() I kind of doubt that you reach 15°C difference, even a good Thermal Paste won't do that kind of a drop. If you have 10°C difference, that means you have not mounted the Push-Pins right or the were loose. The preassure is really high with Push-Pins, that should secure the right contact. We believe Bolt-Through is not a realy good or "bullet-proof" way of mounting. You can not give that to a normal user, that won't work. This is usually increasing the RMA rate and gets a lot of upset customers, a lot of complaints. Greetings, Andy
