Default Ninja 3 Rev. B and Asus A8v deluxe

Hi,

I have purchased a ninja 3 rev b for an old school asus socket 939 mobo (a8v deluxe) but there is no way to install it.

On the web, Scythe indicates it is compatible with socket 939 but when trying to install it I can't seem to find a way to fit it onto the retention clip (the black plastic box) that comes with the mobo.

I removed the retention socket and the default amd backplate but there is no pre-drilled holes for push-pin screws. The only way is to use the stock retention mechanism but I can't seem to find a way to attach the clip to hold the heatsink in place.

How can I install this HS onto my old mobo? Should I purchase some universal retention clip or something? Thanks in advance.

Hello bravoblack6,

I'm sorry for your inconvenience. The Ninja 3 Rev.B isn't compatible with socket 939. We will update the product page. But we send you an alternative backplate (from the Ninja 3), which allows the installing of the Ninja 3 Rev.B onto a socket 939 motherboard.
