Default Ninja rev. B vs Ninja 2

I am buying a new cooler for my father's PC. And I am probably gonna buy the new Ninja since I have had great experience with the Scythe Ninja Rev. B
I already own the Scythe Rev. B.

So I am wondering how much better is the new Ninja compared to the Rev.B?
And also the fan on Ninja2 is slower but has more CFM air flow at 1000RPM then the FAN on Scythe Rev. B at 1200RPM.
Is this correct?

The reason I am interested is because I am probably gonna stick the new Ninja2 into my computer and install Ninja Rev. B into father's computer.

Fan speed was reduced probably to underline the (semi) passive focus of the Ninja series and also because Ninja 2 is delivered with Slip Stream fans which are quite efficient. Slip Stream was released last year and most of the Ninja B models where delivered before Slip Stream was on the market AFAIK.

Quoting the Scythe homepage:

Improved, Power Up, Return of Ninja Version 2!

Performance improvement has accomplished for this version 2 as 5% performance increase in fanless operation (TDP 65W at 25?/77F ambient temperature) and 15% performance increase in active cooling operation (TDP 130W at 25?/77F ambient temperature). Specially tuned Scythe “Slip Stream” 120mm case fan equipped! Simply try this out to see the improvement of the performance in both fanless and active cooling mode!

Bye Oli

Yes.

There is one little difference that would matter if you have a difficult installation and wanted to use the Thermalright Bolt Thru Kit for Socket 775 - this is now slightly harder to install as Ninja 2 no longer offers the possibility to screw from the top with a long srew driver.

The design is now completely closed - no access to the screws possible. But this is only relevant for a very special setup.

I would be installing it on a Msi K9a2 Platinum AM2+ board.

Then forget about Ret Kit and TR-Kit. The solution für AM2+ delivered with Ninja 2 will be absolutely sufficient.

got me NINJA2 and am most happy with it. I have ~10C lower temperatures now and at lower RPM than with NINJA1.

Ninja1 got 56C at 1135RPM
Ninja2 gets 46C at 1015RPMs.

Is Ninja2 so much better than Ninja1 or did I have Ninja1 not mounted properly?

Tested it with Orthos running half an hour.

ps. How come the temperature difference between Core1 and Core2 is ~5C now?
