Default Ninja Plus Rev.B Aluminium Socket!?

I just bought a Ninja Plus Rev.B and I'm wondering about the socket being aluminium instead of copper, like shown on all pics I saw before I bought. Is this normal nowadays or did I get a cheap replica? Also the box doesn't have the window, its completely paperboard.

Everything is alright with your cooler - Scythe is using nickel plated copper now:

Cool!Guess the nickle plating doesn't effect the heat conduction very much.

Actually, the nickel-plating is part of improving the quality of our coolers: Copper gets oxidated during transport, nickel doesn't - so the quality of the baseplate stays the same when using nickel-plating.

Cheers,
Stefan

on my fathers Ninja1 the baseplate copper is oxidated. Does this mean that it will cool less?

no, the performance is the same. But you can use 1000er sanpaper to polish the baseplate.
