Hello melisawaltz,

actually, the P4 Prescott Series is one of the hottest CPUs ever produced - TDP of over 100 Watt is just shocking, but this happened with the Prescotts.

Could you please give me information about your temperatures under full load because 40°C in idle doesn't seam too hot for me.
