Default Passively Cool a E6600?

I am looking to replace the standard HSF for my Intel E6600 with something quieter. Will the Ninja Plus be able to cool this chip completely passively, or at least just only use the fan when it has a lot of load on it? I have no plans to overclock.

Here is my system info:
Case: Newegg.com - ENERMAX Uber Chakra ECA5001B Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail
Fans are all the ones in that picture: One massive one on the side, and one small one in the front

Graphics: Evga Geforce 8600 GTS
PSU: Aerocool ZeroDBA 620W Power Supply

Also, does this HSF use the same annoying clips to secure it to the motherboard as the standard one does?
Thanks in advanced.

I doubt that you will be able to cool CPUs E6600 upwards completely passive.

Semi-passive could be worth a try with a very good airflow in the case. If you don't think about overclocking you should anyway try to undervolt the E6600 to additionally decrease heat.

And yes, the Ninja also uses the Intel reference design with push pins for mounting.

HI,

I can agree on what Oliver said. Ideally undervolt the CPU to reduce the wattage. It should be possible to run it fanless, but the difinition of fnaless is different for every person. A constant airflow is important, no doubt. You can ideally have the case fan blowing in the direction of the Ninja PLUS to generate a decent airflow but not use the fan directly in addition.

Greets,
Andy
