Default Advice on build, mini ninja or shuriken

Hi,

I'm embarking on my first proper computer build and could do with some advice - I'm not sure whether to go with a mini ninja or a shuriken or what the ideal setup would be for cool, quiet running.

I'm looking to cool a zotac 9300 mini itx in a nexus psile case. Initially i thought i'd squeeze in mini ninja as per this build.

Now I'm not so sure - I'm thinking it may be better to have a shuriken or bug shuriken suck air up from the bottom of the case and have an exhaust fan at the back.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks,
Alex

Looking at the schematics of the case you selected: If Mini Ninja fits then i'd prefer this installation as the exhaust at the back better suits a tower cooler IMO.

hi,

its hard to say, both Ninja MIni and Shuriken can do a great job inside this case, but i think big shuriken ist too bog for this case. i think i would mainly prefer Shuriken for this job.

Thanks for the responses. I'm still undecided tbh ...

I'm tempted to use a shuriken sucking air away from the CPU with an additional 1 or two 60 mm exhaust fans blowing it out the back.

Any more ideas would be appreciated.

You need to test how effective Shuriken works if the air is sucked trough the heatsink. In stock configuration the cooler is designed as top-blowing. So you need to flip the fan for sucking setup and see if the temps stay acceptable.

hi,

we not recomand the sucking orientation you want to try. So please dont do it.

But as Oli said, sometime its only possible to find a answer when you test it.

Ah okay. Thanks for the advice. If i go with the shuriken top blowing, then I guess it would help if i had another fan sucking air in from the back. I'll investigate and see how i get on.

Cheers,
Alex
