Default Cpu cooler stabilizer 775

Hello!

I am trying to install a cpu cooler stabilizer for my Ninja 2 cooler, but I'm not sure where does the copper spacer go. Can anyone help me? Thank you!

hi,

the Copper Spacer is not a must, its only a additional feature. But if you want to use it you have to put it between your CPU and the Cooler.

you need to install it on the back side of the motherboard? the instruction on installing it are bad. it's not my first scythe product but it's the first i have problems with.

i of course read what was written. but i WANTED to add it (even if it's optional).

also, the instructions aren't very good generally - especially for the pin release gizmo.

Hi,

If i write "you have to put it between your CPU and the Cooler" why you ask " you need to install it on the back side of the motherboard?", sorry i didnt get the sense here?

Hehe, the pin release is a bit more tricky, your are right, but there is also a easy way without the tool. You only have to overturn the pins, then you can easily remove all.

if there is an easier way - why not write that down? also, the illustration are too small and unclear.

also, it doesn't seem right to put it between the cpu and the cooler at all, but never mind that.

as another comment, i read you have new scythe thermal compound - did you ship it with the stabilizer?

Lt_Dan, there is much confusion in this thread.

There are two absolutely different parts:

a) backplate

b) copper spacer

The backplate MUST be installed on the back of the mainboard in any case with retention or stabilizer kit.

The copper spacer is optional and only necessary to increase pressure of the cooler when sitting on the CPU heatspreader. And this part MUST go between cooler base plate and CPU heatspreader if used.

As a blank metal part installation on the back of the mainboard cannot be recommended - besides the fact that I couldn't even imagine HOW on could make it stick on the mainboard's backside (glue it?!?)...

no confusion at all - i didn't know how to install it between the cpu and the heat sink, and why would you like to. that was cleared for me.

i didn't have any problem with the backplate, i had with the instructions about how to remove the pins, and they weren't very clear about the screws - i still managed but why should i struggle just in understanding the assembly?
