I purchased the Scythe Musashi for my Sapphire HD3870 Single-Slot, trusting the "compatibility list" where HD3870 is listed... now i experience that its NOT working, especially due to a different layout of the cards condensers. Any different opinions on that combination?

I assume you mean to bend the Musashi and not the condensers right? The latter are straight...but also the Musashi itself. "Transforming" the cooler for fitting on this particular card model would mean to work around 5-8 mm at least while the the first condenser in question is localized oppositely from the middle part of the coolers so the bend would have to be very serious...and with a high risk to destroy the pipes, i guess.

no i meant the capacitors. I guessed there would be not enough space between the pcb and the fins due to a bent cap. but if the caps sit in areas where the heatpipes should run it is indeed a problem.
you can bend caps but no more then one or two milimeters. more would be ill-advised and could break 'em. if this wont be enough your card seems to be incompatible to the musashi. bending the heatpipes is also not the best idea as it wouldbe pretty hard to mount the fans on such a curved surface... |

Oh i wouldnt consider to bend the capacitors or condensers on my card :-o Also, they are unfortunately located exactly at those places where the heatpipes are passing in the cooler. Bad luck that the Musashi's fins are that thin, especially at the pipes, otherwise i wouldnt hesitate to make them fitting for the condensers
