I am looking into getting a Musashi VGA cooler for my 5870, but I want the fan speeds to be controlled automatically. So it is possible to replace the two 100mmx100mmx12mm fans that come with the cooler with two SY1225SL12LM-P fans?
One of my concerns about replacing the fans is the potential that the larger fans is will they block the other video card, if I decide to do an crossfire set in the future? I have a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P motherboard, and as you can see there are two PCI-Express slots between the blue slots for the video cards; so will that be enough for the larger fans, and for enough air to get through without hitting the other video if I do decide to do a crossfire setup? |

Hi,
well, hard to say, I think they won't block the second card directly, but the big fans could block the second card's "backplate", if the second card has for example a Musashi, too. So the "backplate" would block the fans. You could use on the "upper" card the 2 big fans without a problem, but I suggest you to use the stock fans of the musashi for the second card, if you really want to use 2 graphiccards.
