Default Musashi in BTX case -> fan damaged?

Hi there,
I'm using my PC components in an Apple G5 case, which is BTX style. That means the mainboard is turned upside-down, so is the graphic card, i my case a Radeon 4870 with a Musashi on TOP of it, not below!

After some ~20 hours one fan of the Musashi is making noises, like its damaged. Is that because of the wrong mounting direction?

Is it possible to turn the fans, mount them 180° twisted AND change the blowing direction by changing + and - of the fans, so that they turn the other direction, but because they are twisted they blow to the heatsink?
