Default Mugen / ******** new name or new Cooler Version

Hi

In germany the ******** has a very good reputation.

But now I read in same forums, that Scythe changes the Infintiy.
Is that right?
And if yes, what is new? Get the ******** only a new name ?
Or get the ******** a new version/edition? (Like the Ninja PLUS and the Ninja PLUS Rev. B)
Or get the Infinty both: A new name and a new version/edition?

Thank you

Hello everyone.

Thank you very much for your interest and trust in Scythe!
We really appreciate your support and I will explain the situation.

First of all, yes we will change the name, package and the fan of ********. The ******** will soon officially be renamed to "Mugen" which means "********" in Japanese.

Availability: We will soon deliver the last "********" to our partners and you guys can buy the ******** again. After that we will simply change the name but product remains almost same, new fan comes with more airflow which will provide a better performance.

Please stay tuned and calm, everyone would be able to buy the ********/Mugen in future, we dont plan to stop the production.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Greetings,
Andy

Thanks for the reply, there are some questions left though:

1. Does "more airflow" also mean "louder"?
2. How much will the "updated" airflow capacity differ from the current one (approximately)?
3. Is there a target date when the product will be renamed and equipped with a more efficient fan? About in a month, or...?
4. If you had the choice: Which cooler would you buy: The ******** or the Mugen?

Hi,

At this moment I do not want to publish specific informations about the change. A couple major hints are yet allowed.

Quote:
1. Does "more airflow" also mean "louder"?
It is a bit louder, but the whole fan design is made in-house. I can not mention the specifications yet, hope for your understanding.

2. How much will the "updated" airflow capacity differ from the current one (approximately)?
This depends on the ambient temperature, but there is a better performance becasue of the higher airflow.

3. Is there a target date when the product will be renamed and equipped with a more efficient fan? About in a month, or...?
No 100% date yet, but the shipment is about to arrive, it'll take approximately 1-2 weeks.

4. If you had the choice: Which cooler would you buy: The ******** or the Mugen?
I would take what is available, because the change is about the Box and the fan. You can consider if the change is worth waiting or buying the current version.

Greetings,
Andy

Okay, thank you very much for answering my questions!

I think I'll buy the ********; it's available for one thing, and for another thing a lower sound intensity is more important to me than a lower temperature ( I don't want to push my E6600 further than 3,0 GHz...)

Does the new fan use Pulse-width modulation (PWM)?

Thx

Hello together,

The launch of the new Mugen will approximately launched this week.
Furthermore the new fan is not a PMW fan, yet.

Greetings,
Andy

I assumed so, for the already several times mentioned "K&M Shop" doesn't have the ********-cooler on stock any more, and it cannot be ordered anymore (see here).

The last thing I'd also like to know was whether the new fan is puls-width modulated, but because this questions has already been answered, there are no further questions left...for now...

Laistrygon:

Yep, K&M will replace the product info during next few days. I think the new fan is better, but that's up to everyone's taste.

We just announced the Mugen, it will be in shops by end of this week.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Greetings
