Hi!

I got small problem with Mugen. I got one that has no S478 mounting and i bought RK to install it as i dont belive in pushpins. However - without s478 mounting it seems impossible to install it without using pushpins.
My question is there anyway to use pushpins mounting to use with RK? Eg. removing pushpins and using the rest with somekind of RK... :?

Or maybe someone knows where i can get s478 mounting as i cant find any, and as far as i know no one is selling it. ;/

I tried to get s478 from ppl who have Mugen but they wont sell it to me as they probably need it to send it back with Mugen when its broken... ;/

Im a bit desperate right now as i have spend money on RK for nothing and i clould get for them Fander or sth to cool my beauty. ;]

Ive hear that Thermalright "RK" might fit with Mugen but i dont know what i need to use it (s478? :/) as i only have pushpins and nothing more... ;/

At the end i will have to install pushpins and secure Mugen to sth in case it would like to go down and crash on my 8800GTX. ;/

Scythe can help you with this. Mugen uses a special mounting system so you'll need replacement parts that were really designed for Mugen.

You can use the Mugen with the retention kit but you need the original Socket 478 clips from Mugen anyway. I believe Scythe can send you a pair of new S478 clips for the Mugen mounting system.

And yes you can also use the TR Kit for Socket 775. You would replace the pushpins by spring loaded screws. This means mechanically remove the palstic pushpins from the original Mugen Socket 775 clips then place the backplate from TR Socket 775 kit on your board's backside and use the screws from the kit to mount Mugen. This is quite tricky as there's virtually no room for usage of screwdrivers - this works much easier with Ninja.

I'd advise you to wait for a reply by Scythe staff and use the socket 478 mounting clips with the Scythe Retention Kit.

Thanks for quick reply! Finally someone who knows about what he is talking.
As ive checked right now - it might be impossible to use TR RK because of the heatpipe on the mobo thus - no room for screwdiver or sth similiar...
