Hi, Just assembled the system. MB ASUS P5E3 Deluxe Wifi AP.
QUAD QX9650. Graphic card ASUS EN9800 GX2. When attaching the cooler I used retention kit but without the spacer as I coould not close the clips with it. It was too tight I though probably I do not have enough pressure under Mugen but when I try to shake it with hand it moves a bit (bows) but not at the CPU end. Is it normal? Now I have permanet CPU temperature reporting 25°C on idle and on heavy gaming as well. It does not change at all! Although temperature of MB changes from 42 to 47-48°C. And graphic card Temp is 68 - 70°C! Is that normal? ![]() |

Hello antonka,
please use CoreTemp to measure your temperature and report your results again. Cheers, Stefan

Hello antonka,
sorry for our shourt break. Having 25°C constantly is an indication for an error in measurement - strange, that the BIOS is showing you the same. For the P5E3, there is a new BIOS available on the ASUS-website, one of the solved errors is "Fix CPU temperature" - maybe you should do a BIOS-Update? Cheers, Stefan

But could you tell me what should be the temperature of CPU in idle state? Maybe problem is with fan positions: Here is the pic. I have a lot of holes in the housing though.

Hi,
So I was really worrying about my temps now and managed to install copper spacer between the processor and heatsink but temps did not change at all. Look at the photos attached. What could be the reason now for these quite high temps? Maybe the fan direction that sits on the heatsing. But I installed it exactly according to the manual. Wires closer to the heatsink. I am clueless. Please help. |
