Hi guys,I'm new to this forum.I have some questions that I want to ask.I just bought scythe mugen and E8400 last december.I ran my mugen speed fan at 1167Rpm-1171Rpm when I did overclock to my CPU,and my cpu's temp is at 37C on idle and at 53C on load.I'm using CPUID Hardware Monitor and SpeedFan to check the temp. Also,I'm using real temp too.On real temp,my temp is at 33C while on idle and 48C while on load.I don't know which one I should believe but I want to ask,are those temp normal to scythe mugen? Also, does scythe mugen come with thermal paste in the box or do we have to buy own thermal paste and apply it to mugen?Since I asked someone to install the hardware for me,so I don't know if the guy applied thermal paste to my mugen or not.
My overclock setting:I ran my E8400 to 4.0Ghz at +1.25v,and my NB is +0.1v. Thank you for the help Last edited by anbu84; 01-10-2009 at 07:59 PM. |

If you want to squeeze everything from a Scythe heatsink I'd suggest to buy their Stabilizer mounting kit or Thermalright Bolt-Thru or Xigmatek Crossbow.
For example this is how it looks Ninja rev.B fanless and TR Bolt-Thru with Arctic Silver 5 on my E8400 @3.6GHz under Linpack at 23°C room temperature. 3600_full_.jpg BTW take latest RealTemp.

They are replacement for that stupid push-pin mount system.
Stabilizer, Bolt-Thru, Crossbow. They are very good for a secure and easy way to mount your heatsink. They make very good contact/pressure between IHS and heatsink base. Take latest RealTemp from my link.

Hello burebista,
actually, the Push Pin mount system is not stupid - lot's of users trust them and don't have any issues. In our customer survey during Christmas, around 40% of the users prefer pushpins and 60% backplate/screws. Kind regards, Stefan - Scythe EU Hamburg
