Default Question about Mugen 2 rev B

Will this cooler be suitable for the following combination:

Fractal Design Define R3 computer case
MSI P55-GD85
Intel Core i7-870
MSI R5770 Hawk
2x Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3MIA 1333 C9

at the moment I do not have exact idea about the space in the case as I have not ordered the parts yet.

Case looks wide enough for Mugen 2 - that's all i can say. Board doesn't seem to be a problem besides the general info in the sticky thread.

Default Mugen 2 rev B

Thank you Oli; I'm rather concerned about the DIMM slots position.

I'd say: don't worry too much.

Did you already read the sticky thread? General Information / FAQ on Mainboard Compatibility

Quote from this thread:
Quote:
The cooler itself will cover the RAM slot only in very very rare cases - and even in those cases you should be able to install RAM modules without or with small heatspreaders anyway!
It is very unlikely that Mugen will block the slots. The fan is the only problem. And for this board i can - again - quote the sticky thread:
Quote:
In many cases the fan will be situated above the 1-2 RAM slots closest to the CPU socket if the fan is mounted parallel to the ATX I/O shield; in this case you can still use RAM with low heatspreaders (Kingston HyperX, Corsair XMS2 etc. - even Ripjaws can fit, here an example: http://www.computerbase.de/forum/sho...d.php?t=676086) or - if the width of your case allows it! - mount the fan a bit higher on the cooler which is possible although it is not the perfect method; anyway this will allow you to use medium heatspreaders, too. If you want to mount really high heatspreaders or RAM modules with heatpipes (OZC Reapers) you will have to mount the fan on another side of the cooler!
That applies for this board. Mount the fan higher or mount it on another side. I personally think it will be rather easy with your memory as its heatspreaders are quite low. I am using the XMS2 which has nearly the same height as your XMS3 without any modification in fans position (not even had to raise it).

As a matter of fact it won't be possible to remove at least one of the RAM modules without removing Mugen's fan first, of course.
