Mugen on MSI P35 Neo2-FR?

Hello,
I come from Germany, so excuse my English. I want to ask if the Mugen fits on a MSI P35 Neo2-FR Mobo by using the Scythe retention Module? I bought the Mugen, but I don´t know if it fits,because I haven´t bought the Board yet. I didn´t find anything in the compatibility list about this board. If it wil not fit, I will buy another board e.g. GB P35 DS3 R.

Hi and wellcome De Lang.

Unfortunately I couldn't get this Mainboards (mobo) yet, there are simply to many mobos on the market. MSI P35 Neo2-FR should be compatible with Mugen and Retention Kit. The heatsink on the mobo seem to be not tall and I would rate this as 90% chance of compatibility.

Hello,
I justgot my Mobo and I tried if the Mugen is compatible. In my opinion it only works when you put it the "long way" that means: The Mugen with its long side parallel with the RAM slots, the other way seems a bit tricky, because of the 8pin ATX connector. I hope everybody can understand it.

did u used the retention pack to install? cause i ordered 1 mugen now, but withtout the retention plate, got the same mobo..

i got the mobo now, mugen fits easily, but if the fan is mounted to blow air to backside of chassis u cant use the first ram slot. but all 3 others are easy available

Ploost: Which RAM do you have? It should work, but fan would be just above the ram, which is not a problem as fat as I know. You can use it, but mount RAM first and then the fan. It will only not work if you have RAM with super huge coolers on them

hmm just ocz normal ram, maybe i installed fan before... i guess yes. didnt try any other thing, cause i just needed 2 slots, so for me it was fine
