Default Mugen 2 - second fan connection

I installed a Mugen 2 on my MSI X58 Pro-E with I7 920 yesterday. I have one 4 pin connection for the CPU fan which the first Mugen 2 fan is connected. I ordered two more clips and one additional fan to use the push/pull method for air flow. How are all of you connecting the second fan for power? I have a three pin connection that already has the rear fan connected. I could get a splitter for that I suppose. Do they make splitters for the 4 pin CPU fan? Would that be the best way to go? Thanks for any help!

You could:

- use a 3-pin to 4-pin molex adapter and connect the fan directly to the PSU (runs full rpm all the time)

- connect the fan to a free 3-pin header on your mainboard (runs full rpm all the time unless your board supports voltage regulation of the connected fans)

- buy a Y-cable splitting up a 3-pin header (it applies what was said before)

- buy a PWM-Y-cable and a second 4-pin PWM fan then both fans would run approx. the same rpm

Default Important result deserves new sticky thread! Push-Push better by 3C!

Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

contrast this with an entirely different setup, one where there's a gap of 3cm air space in the middle:

Push Push Configuration? - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

I think both results are correct and valid, and it shows why the Scythe basic design is superior...
